SAM (Store and Move) and Kansas National Guard Join Hands
to Help Iraqi Families in Need

Topeka area encouraged to make donations Feb. 1

TOPEKA, Kan., Jan. 31, 2007 – SAM, which stands for Store and Move, is a portable storage container and moving service that recently debuted in Kansas. SAM is donating its services to Operation Ruby Slippers, a humanitarian assistance drive for children and others in Iraq sponsored by the Kansas Redlegs and the Kansas Army National Guard.

On Feb. 1, a SAM container and a Mayflower Transit truck will be stationed outside the National Guard security gate on Topeka Blvd. in Topeka, Kan. Community members are encouraged to stop by to donate clothing, shoes and toiletry items such as lip balm, aspirin, vitamins and cold medicine.

“It’s extremely important to remember that families in Iraq are in need. Iraqi children especially need clothing and shoes,” said Charles Campbell, president of the SAM dealership. “We are in a unique position to help these families and offer them a glimmer of hope. I know the people of Topeka will be generous.”

Locally operated through Studdard Relocation, this SAM dealer has a unique relationship with the Kansas National Guard. Campbell’s son and business partner, John Campbell, is currently serving Iraq as an operations officer for the Kansas National Guard unit stationed in the green zone in Baghdad.

After Feb. 1, donations can be brought to Studdard Moving & Storage, 201 Commercial Street,
Leavenworth, Kan. through Feb. 14. For assistance with delivery, donors can contact Charles Campbell at 800-899-8498. Please list what is included in each donation, as required for the items to pass customs and be received in Iraq.
