SAM, which stands for Store and Move, is a portable storage container and moving service that recently debuted in Detroit and surrounding areas. SAM donated several containers to St. Vincent De Paul, a national Catholic lay charity organization, for a much needed charitable cause. These containers were set up at Catholic churches throughout the area and filled with donated goods.
“The generosity and overall response to date has been great, as local parishioners have helped to fill the SAM from top to bottom with donated goods,” said Mike Corrigan, owner of Corrigan Moving & Storage and local SAM dealer.
St. Vincent de Paul collects many types of goods, such as clothing, appliances and general household items, for not only the local poor, but displaced families and anyone in need.
SAM’s headquarters are located in St Louis. Locally operated through Corrigan Moving Systems and White Star Movers, the Detroit SAM dealers have partnered with St. Vincent de Paul over the past two months to gather donations from various locations. “The two companies did not hesitate to accept this opportunity to offer assistance for this wonderful cause,” said Corrigan.

About SAM
The SAM (Store and Move) service is provided through the SAM Support Center located in St. Louis, Mo. and is delivered by a nationwide network of dealers. SAM opened in its first market in January 2006 and will continue to aggressively enter new service areas throughout the United States.
SAM is a convenient and portable storage and moving solution that is delivered to the customer’s residence and placed at ground level for easy packing and unpacking. For customers who are using the SAM as a short- or long-term storage unit, it can be stored onsite at their residence or at the dealer’s secure facility. For customers planning to move, SAM allows the customer as much time as they need to pack; then a SAM representative picks up and moves the container to the new location, again allowing customers the freedom to unpack at their leisure.
