SECOND ANNUAL “BEAR’LY OPEN” GOLF TOURNAMENT
SAM – Store and Move container donated as ninth-hole warming shelter for golfers

WST. PAUL, Minn., Feb. 16, 2009 – Local SAM – Move and Store dealer, Metcalf Moving & Storage of St. Paul, provided golfers some extra warmth during the second annual “BEAR’ly OPEN” golf tournament at White Bear Lake. The SAM container, a portable self-storage and moving container, was donated for use as a warming shelter to Edina Realty, the tournament’s ninth-hole sponsor.

”With the high temperature in the single digits, the SAM container worked perfectly as a warming shelter to protect players from the frigid cold,” said Joe Benson, sales manager for Edina Realty’s White Bear Lake office. “We are grateful to Metcalf for its kind donation in support of the event and our local community.”

The annual event, held on Jan. 24, was an ice-capped round of golf on White Bear Lake, created to celebrate the lake and the community. All proceeds from the weekend event were donated to the White Bear Lake Food Shelf.
