SWARTZ MOVING AND STORAGE PARTNERS WITH LOCAL NONPROFIT
TO SUPPORT LOCAL HOMEOWNERS
SAM container is used to store homeowner’s belongings during renovation

PORTLAND, Ore., July 10, 2009 – Swartz Moving and Storage, a local SAM – Store and Move dealer, partnered with Rebuilding Together-Portland to support a local family through the donation of a SAM container. SAM, an emerging leader in portable moving and storage solutions, is a convenient, safe and secure alternative to truck rental or mini-storage.

For this year’s Rebuilding Together-Portland, Swartz Moving and Storage used the SAM container to hold the personal belongings of a 54-year-old single mother enduring her second bout of cancer in 10 years, while volunteers cleaned and repaired her home. Each year, Rebuilding Together-Portland collaborates with community volunteers and partners to rehabilitate the homes of 50 to 60 low-income homeowners, in particular the elderly, those with children or those with disabilities.

“Rebuilding Together-Portland’s workday is all the more successful thanks to generous support from companies like Swartz Moving and Storage,” said Michael Malone, executive director for Rebuilding Together-Portland. “The SAM container allowed us to safely remove the homeowner’s belongings during the renovation. We were more efficient and successful because of their contribution.”
